All in a Night
by Greg & Shelly
12:00 A.M.
“Thanks a lot for taking us in tonight, guys,” Greg said as he lugged his
suitcase through the hotel lobby. “With the house show and then the masses of
fans clamoring for autographs, it’s been a long night.”
”It’s no problem,” Christopher said with a wide smile. He was perpetually perky
despite the late hour.
”Yeah,” AJ agreed. “What kind of representives of the X-Division would we be if
we let the newest X-Division star and his lovely manager sleep in the lobby?”
”You shouldn’t be punished just because the hotel screwed up,” Christopher said.
Greg turned his attention to his long time friend and manager. “Shell, they
really gave our room away?”
”Uh…yeah,” she said still blushing from AJ’s compliment. “Something like that,”
she muttered.
Greg stopped in his tracks, stopping her. Christopher and AJ walked on and
pressed the button for the elevator. “What do you mean something like that,” he
demanded.
”I might have forgotten to book us a room,” she replied not meeting his gaze.
She had been the one to go up to the desk and speak to the woman there.
”Might have,” Greg said with a huff. “Clarify that statement, please.”
”It’s not my fault,” Shelly said defensively. “Lance Hoyt was being all goofy
and flirty and…and….oh hell…Lance was the only reason.”
”That’s what you’re going with,” Greg asked, rolling his eyes. “You were on a
man hunt and that’s why you neglected to do your job?”
”Yeah,” Shelly replied. “That about sums it up.”
They heard the elevator ding and the doors open. “Hey guys,” Christopher called.
“Let’s go.”
Greg took hold of his suitcase and waited for Shelly to pick up her bags before
shoving her ahead of him, making her stumble a bit. She gave him a glare over
her shoulder before stepping onto the elevator. She tried to let the doors close
on him, but Christopher stopped them, much to her dismay.
“Are you all right,” AJ asked. “Looked like you tripped.”
”Oh that,” Shelly said smiling, but shooting a glare at Greg. “That was just me
being my naturally graceful self.” Greg snickered and she fixed him with another
glare, making him stop.
The elevator started up to the sixth floor where much of the TNA talent was
staying that night. Shelly leaned her back against the back wall of the
elevator, letting her mind wander as Greg and Christopher discussed a past
match. She had been staring into space for a while when she realized that AJ had
been trying to get her attention.
Her cheeks flushed bright red. “I’m sorry what did you say,” she said hoping he
didn’t notice.
AJ chuckled and replied, “I just wanted to know if you wanted to sleep with me
or with Chris tonight.” He then realized how his words had come out and he
laughed nervously. “Let me rephrase that.”
”Please do,” Greg muttered, Shelly kicked him in the shin. “OW!” AJ and
Christopher stared at him curiously. “Leg cramp,” he muttered, rubbing his sore
shin.
”So, who’s it going to be,” Christopher asked.
”Doesn’t really matter to me,” she lied. “As long as I have a comfy pillow to
rest my weary head on.” Greg snickered again, knowing who her preference was.
“We’ll see when we get to the room,” she said glaring at Greg once again.
The elevator dinged to a stop and the doors opened. As they stepped off the
elevator they were nearly bowled over by Eric Young, who was running away from
A1. They had to jump out of the way as the large Canadian bulldozed his way past
them.
”Freaking meat head,” Shelly yelled as she dropped one of her bags. AJ bent over
right in front of her to pick it up and Greg groaned, knowing exactly what she
was thinking.
”Down girl,” he muttered. Unable to pull her eyes away from AJ she simply let
out a dreamy sigh. "You got a little drool coming down your chin," he teased,
but she did not respond. Greg snapped his fingers in front of her face, snapping
her out of her daze. “Your bag, boy crazy,” Greg said taking the bag from AJ and
shoving it into her hand.
”Can we just get to the room, already,” Shelly whined trying to get the
attention off of her. “I’m exhausted.”
They all headed to their room and filed in, dropping their bags. The room was
just slightly bigger than the double beds that occupied them. With a groan Greg
flopped onto the bed closest to the door. Shelly sat down on the bed closest to
the bathroom.
”I guess that settles it,” AJ said smiling. “You get Greg as your bunkmate,
Chris.”
”Great,” Christopher said grabbing his bag and heading into the bathroom.
”Hey,” Shelly yelled after him. “Who says you get first shot at the bathroom.”
”Age before beauty, sweetheart,” he said with a wink.
”Yeah, you are pretty old,” she teased him. He stuck his tongue out at her and
headed into the bathroom to change for bed. “I call the bathroom next,” she said
grabbing the remote from AJ and turning on the TV, channel surfing as she
waited.
12:30 A.M.
“Would you give that damn thing a rest already,” AJ said tossing a pillow at
Shelly. She had been channel surfing for a solid thirty minutes and it was
driving him crazy.
”Hey,” she said tossing the pillow back at him. “Tell Mr. Baldy in there to
hurry his ass up then. I need to get in my beauty regimen before we get some
sleep.”
Greg snickered. “Beauty regimen? You mean when you slap some goop on your face
and come out of the bathroom looking like you’ve been slimed,” he asked.
Shelly snatched the pillow out from under AJ’s head, making it hit the
headboard, and tossed it at Greg. “You use my face goop too,” she teased. “You
said it makes your face all nice a soft like a baby’s bottom.”
AJ snickered as he rubbed his aching head. “And they call me a pretty boy,” he
said still snickering. Greg glared at him, launching the pillow at him. It hit
the target, knocking AJ off the bed.
”What the hell is going on out here,” Christopher asked exiting the bathroom
wearing blue striped pajama bottoms and a white T-shirt.
”Just your average, everyday, friendly pillow fight,” Shelly replied gathering
her things for the bathroom. “Wanna join in? You can use my pillow.”
Christopher laughed and joined Greg on the bed. “We could be waiting for a
while,” Greg said to AJ. “She’s a bathroom hog.”
”I heard that,” Shelly called, coming out of the bathroom in a pair of pink
shorts and a pink baby tee. She had her toothbrush in her mouth, foam
surrounding her lips. “I am not a bathroom hog.” She went back into the bathroom
and they could hear her gargling a minute or two before she joined AJ on the
bed.
”No goop,” Greg asked. She crinkled her nose and shook her head no. “Didn’t want
the Styles man to see you all gooped up, huh?”
”Shut up, jerk face,” she said. “I didn’t feel like going through my usual
nightly ritual.”
”Lazy bitch,” Greg muttered as he passed by the bed heading to the bathroom.
Christopher and AJ looked at the two, wide eyed and slack jawed. They couldn’t
believe what Greg had just said.
”Stupid dick,” Shelly retorted, without even turning her gaze from the TV. Greg
chuckled as he headed into the bathroom to change for bed.
”You guys talk to each other like this all the time,” AJ asked, still in shock.
”Oh yeah,” Shelly replied finally settling on a music channel.
”And it’s always nasty names like that,” Christopher asked.
”Pretty much,” she replied. “We’ve known each other forever, guys. It takes a
lot more than stupid name calling to get us not to speak to each other.” The
commercial break was over on the TV. “Ooh! Pants off Dance off,” she exclaimed.
”What’s that,” AJ asked joining her at the foot of the bed. Christopher nudged
her to move over so that he could join her as well.
”It’s this show on FUSE where people strip to music videos and the winner gets
like $200 or something like that. I love watching it to see all of the train
wrecks.”
Greg came out of the bathroom in his pajamas. “It’s all yours AJ,” he said
plopping down next to Shelly. “Did I miss anything good?” Shelly shook her head
no as the next dancer came on.
AJ was in and out of the bathroom in record time, wearing nothing but a pair of
gray sweats. “Dude, move over,” he said shoving Greg, who fell to the floor at
the foot of the bed. AJ took his place next to Shelly, eyes fixed on the TV.
A very buxom young woman was down to her bra and panties as she gyrated across
the screen to Nelly Furtado’s Promiscuous video. “This is a great show,”
Christopher said, a wide grin on his face.
”You said it,” AJ said.
”Oh yeah,” Greg agreed practically drooling over the woman.
Shelly rolled her eyes. “Shall I go grab some extra ice buckets to use for all
of the drool,” she asked as the video ended, stopping short of the woman getting
completely naked.
”Well, that was a slap and a tickle,” Christopher muttered, clearly
disappointed.
”Sad that you didn’t get to see any boobies, Chris,” Shelly asked with a smirk.
”Why? You gonna show me yours to make up for it,” he asked with an evil grin.
”Hey,” AJ yelled. “That’s no way to talk to a lady.” Shelly tossed him an
appreciative glance. “Besides if she’s gonna show anyone her boobies, it’s me.”
He wriggled his eyebrows suggestively at her, a smirk curling his lip. She let
out an exasperated groan and whacked him in the face with her pillow.
”How about we actually try to get some sleep,” Greg asked noting the time. “We
do have to catch the early flight in the morning.”
Shelly shut off the TV and tossed the remote onto the end table. “Good idea,”
she said turning down the bed. AJ did the same on the other side of the bed.
“Can I trust you to keep your hands to yourself,” she asked teasingly.
”Scouts honor,” he replied, crossing his heart.
”You got your fingers crossed behind your back or something, man,” Christopher
asked as he climbed into bed.
”No,” AJ replied, shaking his head.
”Good night everyone,” Greg said, his tone telling them that he really wanted to
get some sleep.
”Night Chris,” Shelly said sweetly. “Night AJ. Night Greg.”
”Just get some damn sleep already,” Greg called.
”Love you too,” she replied giggling. Greg let out an exasperated groan and
Christopher and AJ both chuckled as the lights went out.
12:50 A.M.
Greg had just been dozing off when a loud noise snapped him back to wakefulness.
Rolling over in bed his eyes adjusted to the darkened room and rested on
Christopher’s sleeping form. His eyes then trailed over to the bed where AJ and
Shelly lay. He could see that they were staring at Christopher as well.
Greg reached over and turned on the bedside lamp. “Is it just me or does it
sound like we’re rooming with a frickin’ grizzly bear,” he asked. Shelly began
to giggle. “What’s so funny?”
”I’m just glad that I didn’t have to bunk with him,” she said still giggling.
Styles began to chuckle as well, fatigue overtaking him and making everything
funnier than it should be.
”It’s not funny,” Greg grumbled. “We need to stop him so that we can all get
some sleep.”
”Why don’t you try squeezing his nose until he wakes up,” Shelly suggested,
still giggling.
Greg shrugged, not having a better idea, and leaned over Christopher. He stared
at the older man for a long while as he continued to snore louder and louder.
Tentatively Greg reached out with his index finger and thumb and squeezed
Christopher’s nose. AJ and Shelly watched, holding their breath.
Much Greg’s dismay Christopher did not wake up, instead he simply opened his
mouth and began to snore even louder. It seemed like the snores were rattling
the walls of the room. Greg flopped back on his pillow, running a hand over his
face and groaning. Shelly couldn’t stop the giggles now and they soon became
contagious as AJ began to giggle as well.
”It’s not funny,” Greg growled. “He’s so damn loud that he could wake up the
whole floor.” He propped himself up on an elbow and glared at Shelly and AJ, who
were still giggling. “Does he always snore like this, AJ?”
”Usually I’m asleep before him,” AJ replied wiping tears from his eyes. He was
still giggling, though not as much as he had been. “I don’t hear anything once
I’m asleep.”
”You’re a big help,” Greg grumbled. He began to poke Christopher in the
shoulder. “Chris. Come on,” he whined. “Roll over or something. You’re keeping
us awake.”
Greg continued to poke him until he let out a loud snort and the snoring
stopped. Christopher rolled away from the poking, let out another loud snort and
began snoring once again. Greg stared at the older man, wide eyed and slack
jawed. He couldn’t believe that the poking had not woken him.
”CHRIS,” Greg yelled in the older man’s ear. Shelly and AJ stopped giggling and
held their breath. Christopher jerked a little, but continued to snore away.
“This is unbelievable! What the hell? Did he down a bottle of tranquilizers or
something?”
Shelly couldn’t help giggling once again. The situation seemed like a scene
right out of a comedy series. Greg glared at her and she began to laugh even
harder. “Oh come on,” she said gasping for air. “It’s funny. I mean, he’s so
damn loud and we can’t wake him up.”
AJ joined her in the giggling. “It really is funny,” he said laughing even
harder as Christopher began to snore in spurts.
”You two can laugh it up,” Greg grumbled grabbing a blanket and pillow. “I’m
going to see if someone else will let me room with them.”
”Have fun storming the castle,” Shelly called, reciting a favorite line from The
Princess Bride as a goodbye. She collapsed into a fit of giggles once again, as
did AJ. Greg rolled his eyes at them and left the room in search of a quieter
place to sleep.
”I’m so tired I can’t sleep,” Shelly said wiping the tears from her eyes as the
giggles subsided.
”Me too,” AJ replied, wiping his eyes as well. “Wanna see if Pants Off Dance Off
is still on,” he asked.
”I can guarantee it,” she said grabbing the remote and turning on the TV. As she
had promised it was on. “FUSE likes to run a two hour block of it on weekends.”
”This is tragic,” AJ said crinkling his nose as a man danced badly to some
eighties pop song. “I can dance better than that.” He stood and began to dance
with surprising rhythm.
”Take it off,” Shelly giggled, cat calling him. AJ was just about to slip his
sweats off when there was a knock at the door. “Man,” Shelly grumbled, sliding
out of bed. “I’ll see who it is.” She went to the door and peeked out the
peephole.
”Who is it,” AJ asked slipping a shirt over his head.
”It looks like AMW,” Shelly said curiously. She opened the door to see what they
wanted.
”Good lord,” Storm cried. “You got an angry grizzly in there?” He peered into
the room, shocked that one man could make so much noise. Harris peered in behind
him, unable to believe his ears.
”What can I do for you, Cowboy,” Shelly asked, unable to resist flashing her
flirty smile at him.
Storm smiled wide at her and replied, “Beer run. Wanna come?”
”Why would we wanna go on a beer run at almost one in the morning,” AJ asked
joining her at the door.
”Who says you’re invited,” Harris replied.
”Seriously, guys, it would just be easier to whip ‘em out and measure ‘em,”
Shelly said stepping between Harris and AJ. Storm couldn’t help laughing.
”I like her,” he said to Harris, who rolled his eyes.
”Are you coming or what,” Harris asked, unable to come up with a comeback to
Shelly's comment.
”I just need to change,” Shelly said turning to walk back into the room.
Storm eyed her up and down and gently grabbed her wrist before she could get
far. “Don’t you dare change a thing,” he said winking at her. “Grab some shoes
and let’s go, darlin’.” She did as he told her to, slipping the room key into
her pocket on the way out.
”You coming, AJ,” she asked as she followed Storm and Harris down the hall. AJ
looked back at Christopher, who was still snoring away, and shrugged, closing
the door behind him. Anything would be better than being stuck in a room with
that.
1:00 A.M. ~ Greg's Quest
Greg lugged his pillow and blanket down the hall to the last door on the right.
He could hear muffled arguing inside. With a sigh and a shrug he knocked on the
door. The arguing inside stopped momentarily before starting up again. Greg
could hear the voices getting closer to the door.
”I’m answering the damn door,” Andy Douglas yelled as he opened the door. “Hey
Greg,” Andy said. “What can I do you for?”
”Shell forgot to book us a room,” Greg said. “So, we were bunking with Chris and
AJ, but Chris has a wicked snoring problem.” Andy gave him a knowing look and
shook his head.
”We found out about that the hard way,” Chase said joining them at the door. “He
sounds like a grizzly bear in heat.”
”That’s what I’m saying,” Greg replied with a chuckle. “So, can I bunk with you
guys?”
”Come on in,” Andy said slinging an arm around Greg’s shoulders.
”You can have the free bed,” Chase said. “Andy and I like to share.” Greg
quirked a brow at the two.
”No we’re not gay,” Andy replied. “We just like to cuddle.” Greg shrugged Andy’s
arm off of him and continued to look at the two curiously.
”There’s nothing wrong with a little cuddling between friends,” Chase said in
response to the look. “Andy is my hetero-life partner and we’re not ashamed to
show a little affection.”
”That explains a lot about your in ring behavior,” Greg muttered.
”What was that,” Andy asked.
”Which bed is mine,” Greg replied.
”You can take that one by the wall,” Chase said with a smile.
Yawning Greg tossed his pillow on the bed and covered himself up. Within moments
he was heading toward dreamland, but a persistent sound kept drawing him back.
Groaning inwardly he knew exactly what it was.
”You wake him up,” Andy whispered.
”No, you wake him,” Chase hissed.
”I’m not gonna wake him up,” Andy replied. “Remember what he did to me when I
accidentally spilled coffee on him?”
”It wasn’t half as bad as when I tripped over his foot and got that black mark
on his brand new white Reeboks,” Chase replied. “I still have the scar.” He
rubbed his forehead.
”I still think you should wake him,” Andy replied, ignoring his partner’s pain.
”What are you two whispering about,” Greg asked, not even raising his head from
the pillow.
Gulping, Chase replied, “We…uh…need a neutral opinion on something.”
”What,” Greg replied, yawning.
”Which one of us has the better hair,” Andy asked. “We’ve been arguing over it
for hours now and have gotten nowhere.”
”Which one of you wants to die first,” Greg asked sitting up and fixing them
with a glare.
”Oh God,” Chase said hiding behind Andy. “You made him mad. Take Andy first!”
Andy glared at Chase and shoved him away. “He’s not going to kill us,” he said
trying calm the blonde down. When he looked at Greg he could see that his glare
had not changed. “You’re not going to kill us…are you?” When Greg did not reply
Andy got nervous. “Say something, man. You’re creeping me out.”
”Shut the fuck up and let me get some sleep,” Greg replied lying back down and
covering up his head.
”I told you we shouldn’t have bothered him,” Chase hissed.
”You did not,” Andy whispered. “You didn’t say anything of the sort!”
”I didn’t want to wake him,” Chase replied.
”No, you wanted me to,” Andy hissed. “We still need a neutral opinion on this
matter though.” He stared at Greg with a frown on his face.
”It’s your turn,” Chase said. “I don’t want him kicking my ass.”
”Like that’s hard to do,” Andy replied.
Hurt flashed across Chase’s eyes. He sniffled and ran into the bathroom slamming
the door. Greg, having overheard the exchange, groaned and sat up, glaring at
Andy. He realized that he was not going to get any sleep in this room either.
”Don’t look at me that way,” Andy replied plopping down on his bed. “He gets his
ass kicked on a nightly basis and I’m suppose to be nice about it? Everyone says
that he's the weak link in our team.”
From the bathroom they heard a loud sob and then the water running. Greg looked
toward the bathroom and then back at Andy. “I think you need to apologize,” he
said, stifling a yawn.
Andy hung his head with a sigh and went to the bathroom door. “Hey Chase,” he
called through the door. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said what I said.” The
bathroom door opened and Chase stared at his tag team partner, tear stains on
his cheeks.
”You mean it,” Chase asked, sniffling.
Andy sighed and pulled the blonde into a hug. “I mean it, buddy,” he said.
”That’s it,” Greg said gathering his blanket and pillow. “I’m outta here.”
”Wait,” Chase called following him to the door. “We still need your opinion.”
Greg glared at him a moment before saying, “Goodbye, guys.” With that he headed
out into the hall.
”You chased him away,” Greg could hear Andy yell.
”That’s right! It’s always my fault,” Chase yelled back. Greg could hear the
bathroom door slam shut again.
With a sigh Greg decided to head back to Christopher and AJ’s room to see if the
snoring was still unbearable. He got to the door and realized that he didn’t
have a key. Shrugging he pressed his ear to the door and listened. Within
moments he heard the loud snoring.
”Definitely not going back in there,” he muttered. He realized that he didn’t
hear AJ or Shelly inside. Knocking on the door he called, “Shell? AJ? You in
there?” When there was no response he figured that they had gone in search of
somewhere quieter to sleep as well. With a sigh he went off in search of another
room to sleep in.
1:00 A.M. ~ Shelly's Mission
Shelly, AJ and America’s Most Wanted headed to the parking lot. “I call
shotgun,” AJ called seeing the car and racing toward it.
”Damn it, AJ,” Shelly grumbled as she followed close behind him. “I wanted to
sit in the front.”
”Well, I called it,” AJ replied sticking his tongue out at her. She attempted to
grab his tongue, but she wasn't quick enough. He chuckled and taunted her until
she punched him in the arm. “Ow,” he said rubbing his arm. “Someone's a sore
loser.” She threatened to punch him again, but he hid behind Storm.
”If anyone says who sits in front, it’s me and James,” Harris said joining the
two at the car.
”AJ can sit up front,” Storm said pulling out the keys and opening the driver
side door. He slid in behind the wheel and opened up the passenger and back
doors. Harris and Shelly looked at Storm, unable to believe that he actually
wanted AJ up front with him. “Get in,” he called. “We don’t have all night.”
Shelly pouted. “But I wanted to sit with the Cowboy,” she said, crossing her
arms across her chest.
”What am I? Chopped liver,” Harris asked, pouting now too.
A devious smile spread across Shelly’s lips as she sauntered over to Harris. She
placed her hand on his bicep and smiled up at him. “You know I'll always have a
soft spot in my heart for the Wildcat,” she said. He smiled as she traced his
bicep with her finger. “But, the Cowboy will always be my favorite. Last one in
the car is a rotten egg,” she said suddenly, shoving him away and jumping into
the backseat.
”Hey,” Harris called as he tried not to lose his balance. “You sneaky little
bitch!” He slid into the backseat next to her, wanting to wring her neck.
”You say bitch like it’s a bad thing,” Shelly replied with a wide smile. Harris
groaned, shaking his head, and sat back in his seat.
AJ turned around in his seat to look at the two in the back. “You like being
called a bitch, don’t you,” he asked Shelly.
”Depends,” she replied with a shrug.
”On what,” Harris asked.
”On who is saying it,” Shelly replied. The men looked at her confused.
“If…say….Gail Kim were to call me a bitch then I’d have to kick her skanky ass.”
”You know she’s not…” Harris began, but Shelly quieted him by pinching his lips
together.
”Finish that statement and you’ll be saying it like Mickey Mouse,” she said to
him. Instinctively Harris’ hands shielded his crotch. She turned her attention
to Storm, leaning into the front seat. “So how much beer are we getting,
Cowboy,” she asked, resting her head on his shoulder.
”Shouldn’t be getting any,” Harris piped up. “He’s already had an entire twelve
pack.”
Shelly looked from Harris to Styles to Storm and back to Harris again. “Should
he be driving,” she asked him.
”I’m just mildly buzzed,” Storm replied. “Don’t worry, sweetheart, you’re
perfectly safe with me behind the wheel.”
Shelly slid back in her seat and cinched the seatbelt tight around her waist. AJ
did the same in the front. They both looked at Harris, who was staring out the
window. When he realized that eyes were upon him he turned to them.
”I’m used to James driving this way,” he replied. “He’s fine.”
”Then you won’t mind if I use your belt too,” Shelly said grabbing his seatbelt
and tying it around her waist.
No sooner had she done this than they were at the liquor/convenience store.
Storm pulled into a parking space surprisingly steady for someone who had so
much alcohol in his system. “Let’s go kiddies,” he called as he slid out of the
car.
AJ was out of the car quickly, reaching into his pocket to see how much money he
had on him. “Might want something,” he told Storm, who nodded with a smile.
Shelly had just unbuckled herself and tried the door on her side to find it had
the child safety locks on. “Uh…Cowboy! We’re trapped.” Storm opened Harris’ door
and Shelly waited patiently for him to exit the car. “What the hell is taking so
long,” she asked shoving him out by his bottom.
”Hey,” he cried as he fell face first onto the pavement. He glared back at
Shelly, but then he got a devious grin. “If you wanted to feel my ass all you
had to do was ask.”
”Ew! Why would I want to feel your ass,” Shelly said climbing over him to get
out of the car.
”Come on now,” Harris said getting to his feet. “Admit it. You just copped a
feel.”
Shelly blushed slightly. “Maybe a little one,” she admitted. Harris smiled.
“What have you been doing squats or lunges?”
”A little of both,” he replied slinging an arm around her shoulders.
”Man of my dreams,” she said pretend swooning into his arms. Harris laughed and
dragged her into the store behind Storm and AJ.
Shelly spotted a magazine rack and shoved Harris off of her. She grabbed up a
bunch and headed toward Harris. “Oh Wildcat,” she said snuggling up to him. He
smiled, but then realized that she wanted something.
”What do you want,” he asked rolling his eyes.
”I forgot my money at the hotel,” she said sweetly. “Would you mind paying for
my stuff?”
Harris sighed. “Sure,” he said pulling out his wallet.
”Oh good,” she said smiling. “Then I’ll take one of these and two of these and
four of these.” She grabbed a couple of lollipops, some candy bars and some
bottles of water. “Oh yeah and I can’t forget these.” She grabbed a couple of
bags of Doritos off the rack too.
”Everyone got what they need,” Storm asked as the clerk bagged his beer.
When everyone got what they wanted they left the store and headed back to the
car. They made it back to the hotel and made their way up to the sixth floor.
When they got to Storm and Harris’ room they realized that they didn’t have
their room key.
”I thought you said you had it,” Harris yelled.
”No, you said you had it,” Storm replied taking a swig of beer.
”All right,” Shelly said with a sigh. “We’ll see you guys later. Thanks for the
goodies, Wildcat. I’ll pay you back tomorrow.”
”Don’t worry about it,” Harris called before he went back to arguing with Storm.
”Back to our room, Styles man,” Shelly asked AJ, who nodded. They made their way
back to their room to stash their stuff.
2:00 A.M. ~ Greg's Search
Feeling the effects of lack of sleep, Greg went to the door opposite the
Naturals’ room and knocked. He heard muffled voices from inside the room, female
voices at that. Perking up a bit, Greg waited for the door to be answered. When
the door opened Greg had to fight to keep his jaw from hitting the floor.
”Hi Greg,” Traci Brooks said smiling. She wore nothing more than a T-shirt that
barely came to her knees. It was slit at the collar to reveal her cleavage.
“What’s up?”
Greg gulped. “I was rooming with Chris and AJ, but Chris is snoring too loud,”
he said, his voice cracking slightly. “Can I bunk in here?”
”Who is it, Trace,” Gail Kim called coming to the door. She wore short shorts
and a tank top. “Oh hi, Greg!”
”Greg wants to bunk with us tonight,” Traci said with a smirk. “Should we let
him?”
”Let me guess,” Gail said with a smirk of her own. “Chris is snoring like a
wicked grizzly bear?”
”I take it everyone knew about this problem of his except Shelly and I,” Greg
replied. The women chuckled and nodded.
”Come on in, kid,” Traci said ushering him into the room. “You take that bed.
Gail and I will bunk in mine.”
Relieved to have a bed again, Greg collapsed into it, pulling the covers around
him. He had just started dozing off when he heard the women whispering back and
forth. With a soft groan he muttered, “Not again!”
”You ask him,” Traci hissed.
”No, you ask him,” Gail replied. “You’ve got a better way with men than I do.”
”Don’t I know it,” Traci replied with a wicked chuckle.
”Ladies,” Greg said sitting up and startling the women. “What are you whispering
about? I would like to get some sleep before the night is over.”
”We need you to solve a problem for us,” Traci said taking a seat next to him
and crossing her legs.
”That problem would be,” he asked taking her in from top to bottom.
Gail followed Traci’s lead and took a seat on the other side of Greg, also
crossing her legs. “We really need you to settle a little dispute for us,” Gail
said.
”What dispute is that,” Greg asked, also taking her in from head to toe.
”We need to know who has the better ass,” Traci said. She stood up and bent over
a little for him, her night shirt rising just a little. Gail also stood and bent
over just a little for him.
Greg closed his eyes, rubbing them to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. When he
opened them again the women were looking at him expectantly. He pinched his arm
to double check that he wasn’t sleeping. When he was sure that he was actually
awake he took a deep breath and looked from one woman to the other.
”Ladies,” he said, thinking of what he could possibly say to them. “I couldn’t
possibly judge something like that unless I saw them in action.”
”How would we do that,” Gail asked, confused by his statement.
Greg grabbed the remote on the end table between the beds and turned on the TV.
He switched it to a music station and looked at the women. “All I need you two
to do is take turns dancing so that I can judge this thing right.”
Gail and Traci looked at each other and smiled. “We can do that,” Traci said
shoving Gail out of the way. She began to dance, being sure to shake her ass in
Greg’s face. Gail watched, rolling her eyes at Traci. When the song ended Traci
looked at Gail with a self satisfied grin and said, “Top that.”
Gail rolled her eyes at Traci and waited for the next song to start. Smiling
when she heard the thumping beats of a familiar rap song start, she began to
dance for Greg. For his part, he tried to remain impartial as the women competed
for his attention. It would be a tough decision for him to make when it came
time for it, though.
”How was that,” Gail asked when the song ended.
”Very nice,” Greg replied, looking at each woman appreciatively. “But…I may need
a little more convincing before I make my final decision.”
Gail and Traci sighed and once again took turns dancing to the music. Each woman
trying to be as sexy as she possibly could. When they were done they were both
out of the breath. They took seats on either side of him and looked at him
expectantly.
”You better make a decision now,” Traci said panting. “I don’t think that I can
dance anymore.”
”You and me both, sister,” Gail panted. “Come on Greg. Settle this for us.”
”Well, after careful consideration,” Greg said looking from one woman to the
next. “I have decided that…you both have fantastic asses.”
Gail and Traci looked at him as if he had sprouted a second head. “What the hell
does that mean,” Traci demanded.
”That doesn’t settle anything,” Gail screeched.
They pulled him up by his collar and dragged him to the door. “Ladies…can we
talk about this,” he begged as they opened the door and tossed him into the
hall. “Ladies!” He banged on the door. “You’re both beautiful women,” he called.
“How can I choose just one?!” The door opened and Gail tossed his pillow and
blanket in his face before slamming the door in his face.
With a sigh he turned his attention to the hall of doors. With a shrug he headed
up the hall to the next door. Perhaps he would find better luck in another room.
2:00 A.M. ~ Shelly's Fun
When AJ and Shelly made it back to their room it seemed like Christopher’s
snoring had gotten even louder. Nash, who was hanging out in Alex Shelley and
Johnny Devine’s room, poked his head out when he heard them. He glanced at their
room door and then back at the two with a wicked smirk curling his lips.
“You know there are local ordinances about keeping wild animals penned up in a
hotel room,” he said. “I’m gonna need to see the proper permits for keeping that
grizzly bear in there.”
Shelly handed her bag over to AJ and sauntered over to Nash, a wicked gleam in
her eyes. “I’m gonna need to see your permit, big boy,” she said running her
finger down his chest to his jeans. “There are laws against carrying a concealed
weapon.” Her finger caught the belt loop of his jeans and she tugged gently. She
could see a blush creep up Nash’s neck and face. “YES! I actually made Big Sexy
blush,” she exclaimed doing a victory dance. “Go me! Go me!”
”I’m not blushing,” Nash replied. “I just…it’s hot out here in the hall.” He
looked to AJ for help, but got none. Without another word he headed into the
room and slamming the door behind him.
Shelly giggled as she opened the door to their hotel room. The snoring got even
louder. “How the hell is it that you sleep through this,” she asked AJ, who
shrugged. “Do you by any chance load up on tranquilizers before you go to
sleep?” He chuckled and shoved her playfully into the room.
”What do you wanna do now,” AJ asked sitting down on the bed next to
Christopher. The sleeping man didn’t even stir.
”I think we need to get the hell out of here,” Shelly said. Just as she said
that there was a loud thud against the door. They exchanged puzzled looks before
AJ got up and opened the door. Eric Young and A1 tumbled into the room with a
yelp.
”What the hell are you two doing,” AJ asked helping A1 up.
Shelly grasped Eric’s hand and helped him up, cradling his head on her shoulder.
“You all right, sweetie,” she asked him. He nodded, throwing a wicked glance in
A1’s direction. “Did the meat head hurt you?”
”A little,” Eric said, faking a sniffle. Shelly glared at A1, who was totally
baffled by Eric’s ability to fool her.
”Where does it hurt,” she asked rubbing his shoulders. Eric cringed and she
rubbed the area between his shoulder blades gently. “Feel better,” she asked. He
nodded and rested his head on her chest, wriggling his eyebrows at AJ and A1.
”How does he do that,” AJ asked A1. “How does he always get the girl?”
”It’s the wounded puppy act,” A1 replied rolling his eyes. “Gets ‘em every time.
Isn’t that right, Eric?”
”You both are just jealous that he’s cuter than the two of you combined,” Shelly
said.
”Oh puhlease,” A1 said rolling his eyes. “He doesn’t even have any muscle.” He
flexed his biceps at her causing her to give him a look of mock disgust.
”You told me that I had a cute baby face,” AJ replied pouting.
Before anyone could say anything else Petey Williams entered the room. He looked
from A1 and AJ to Eric and Shelly and sighed. “He’s pulling the wounded puppy
act again,” he asked A1, who nodded. Petey groaned and approached Eric, but
Shelly stepped in between them.
”Wounded puppy act or not, Petey, you’re not going to hurt him,” she said. Petey
placed his hands on his hips and looked at her with a smirk. “I don’t know what
you’re thinking of doing Petey, but you better not act on it.” Petey’s smirk
widened into an evil grin as he inched closer to her. “You better not take
another step. I’m warning you!”
”What are ya gonna do,” Petey asked inching even closer to her. He lunged at
her, throwing her over his shoulder. “A1, grab Eric and let’s go!”
”Petey Williams, you put me down now,” Shelly yelled beating on his back.
”It’s better if you don’t fight,” Eric called from A1’s shoulders. “Just go limp
and enjoy the ride. That’s what I always do.”
Shelly shot Eric a look and groaned. “AJ, help me,” she squealed.
”You’re on your own, babe,” he laughed as followed close behind Petey and A1 to
the room across the hall.
”You go looking for Eric and come back with…who is that,” Coach D’Amore asked
trying to get a better look at the person on Petey's shoulders.
”Hi, Coach,” Shelly said as Petey turned her around so that he could see her
face. “Tell Petey to put me down, please.”
”I dunno,” D’Amore said admiring the view. “I kinda like the scenery.” Shelly
reached out to smack him upside the head, but missed, hitting Bobby Roode
instead.
”Sorry, Bobby” she cried as Petey swung her around and gave her a smack on the
bottom. “Hey!” She got a wicked glint in her eyes, realizing the position she
was in. With an evil smirk she smacked him hard on his ass. He unceremoniously
dropped her onto the nearest bed, rubbing his sore cheek.
”You didn’t have to smack me so hard,” he said to her, still rubbing it.
”Oh you big baby,” she muttered. “Would you like me to kiss it and make it
better?”
”Actually that would be nice,” he replied with a smile.
”Petey, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Eric said from where A1 had dumped
him.
”Shut up,” Petey yelled, making Eric pout.
”Fine,” she said sighing. “Bend over.” Petey did as she asked and without
missing a beat she gave him a wedgie.
”Told you it wasn’t a good idea,” Eric said cracking a smile.
AJ had to wipe tears out of his eyes from laughing so hard. The rest of Team
Canada were hysterical. “What the hell,” Petey yelled fixing himself. “What was
that for?”
”For abducting me,” Shelly replied with a shrug. Petey scowled at her.
”I can’t believe you fell for that,” D’Amore chuckled.
”Like you knew she was going to do that,” Petey yelled.
”I knew she was going to do something,” A1 said, wiping his eyes.
”You do have some brains in there,” Shelly teased. “I always love a big muscular
man with brains.” A1 smiled and took a seat next to her on the bed, flexing for
her again. She reached out and felt the bicep, fake swooning.
”I thought you said you like them buff and dumb,” Eric replied.
”Oh yeah,” Shelly said. “That’s right.” A1 pouted. “Don’t worry, you’ll always
be my favorite meat head,” she said patting his back.
”I thought you said that Buff Bagwell was your favorite meat head,” Eric said.
”Would you shut up or you’ll end up with a wedgie,” Shelly said, causing
everyone to laugh. “So, boys, what are we up to?”
”We were just about to watch some old hockey tapes,” Bobby replied. “Want to
join us?”
”As tempting as that sounds,” Shelly replied. “I think we should move along. You
know places to go. People to annoy.” She shoved AJ out of the room and waved
goodbye to Team Canada.
”I thought you liked watching hockey,” AJ said puzzled.
”I do,” Shelly replied. “I just don’t think being stuck in a room with that much
testosterone during a sporting event is a good thing.” AJ shrugged and looked
around the hall.
”Now what,” he asked.
”Shall we try door number one,” she asked motioning to the door next to Team
Canada’s. “Or door number two.” She motioned to the door on the other side of
Team Canada’s.
3:00 A.M. ~ Greg's Hell
Carting his pillow and blanket down the hall, Greg knocked on the door to the
right of Team Canada’s room. He could hear the Canadians yelling at what he
assumed was an old hockey tape. He pressed his ear to the door he had just
knocked on, but before he was able to hear anything the door opened. Greg found
himself leaning on someone’s bare chest. He stepped back, startled and a little
repulsed by the realization that he was up against bare flesh. Looking up he saw
Raven’s amused face.
”Look, kid, I keep tellin’ ya I don’t swing that way,” Raven said, a smirk on
his face.
”Great,” Greg muttered, ignoring the insinuation that he was gay. “Listen, would
it be possible for me to bunk with you for the rest of the night.”
”I told you I don’t….”
”I’m not gay,” Greg said, louder than he wanted to. He could hear chuckles
coming from a few rooms with open doors. “Look, my manager forgot to book us a
room and I have been trying in vain to get some sleep in various rooms and…”
”Where is your lovely manager,” Raven asked, not really listening to the younger
man’s plight. He peered out into the hall and frowned not seeing Shelly
anywhere.
”She’s somewhere with AJ Styles,” Greg replied rolling his eyes. He was sick of
guys asking him where she was when they weren’t together.
”Lucky bastard,” Raven muttered his frown deepening. “She’s a hot little number.
Give me a couple of minutes alone with her and I could….”
”Can I bunk with you or not,” Greg asked, not wanting to know what Raven wanted
to do to his manager and friend.
”Yeah, sure,” Raven replied stepping aside and allowing Greg entrance.
The room was a total mess, clothes and garbage littered the floor and bed. Greg
glanced around the mess and sighed. He took a seat at the end of the bed, it was
then that he realized that there was only one bed.
”This room is a single,” Greg asked.
Raven looked around and then back at Greg. “Uh…yeah,” he replied as if Greg had
suddenly gone stupid. “You think I want a room mate? Fuck no!”
”What am I,” Greg replied.
”Company,” Raven answered picking up a wrapper, looking at it and tossing it
back on the floor. “You can take the bed. I don’t really sleep anyway. Just
shove that shit off and make yourself at home.”
With a sigh Greg shoved the junk off one side of the bed and pulled his blanket
around himself. He laid his head on the pillow and closed his eyes, stifling a
yawn. He could feel the fatigue from lack of sleep and a full day settling in
around him. He was almost asleep when he felt the bed shift next to him. He
heard the TV click on and then the sounds of late night television filled the
room.
”What are you doing,” Greg asked, his voice muffled by the pillow.
”Sorry, did you wanna watch something,” Raven asked.
Greg propped himself up on his elbow and glared at Raven. “No,” he replied, his
tone clearly aggravated. “I just want to sleep. Do you think that you can let me
sleep?”
”Sure,” Raven replied, flipping through the channels. “Don’t let me bother you.
Like I said, I hardly ever sleep.”
”Why is that, do you think,” Greg asked, noting the tons of empty cans of
caffeinated soda and empty coffee cups littering the room.
”I dunno,” Raven replied, popping open another can of cola. “It’s one of those
unsolved mysteries. Hey! Did you ever watch that show when it was on? Man that
was some awesome shit! They had all kinds of stories on there; missing persons,
paranormal activity, alien abductions….”
”Raven,” Greg yelled, stopping the older man’s tangent. “I just want to sleep.
Do you think you can keep the noise down?”
”Sure thing,” Raven replied. He mimicked zipping his lips and locking them.
”Thank you,” Greg sighed and curled up under the covers again.
Raven silently flipped through the channels until he found a Three Stooges
marathon. “My favorite,” he exclaimed. “I can’t believe I didn’t know this was
on!”
”RAVEN,” Greg yelled. “I JUST WANT TO SLEEP! WHAT IS IT WITH YOU PEOPLE?!
DOESN’T ANYONE AROUND HERE SLEEP?”
”No need to yell,” Raven replied.
With an exasperated groan Greg gathered his blanket and pillow and stormed to
the door. He glared at Raven as he swung it open. “If I don’t get some sleep I’m
going to go insane,” he grumbled. “Thanks for nothing, Raven.”
”Anytime, kid,” Greg heard Raven call as the door slammed shut behind him.
Once again Greg sighed and gazed at the hall of prospective doors. He hoped that
he would finally find peace a quiet within one of the many rooms. With a heavy
sigh he trudged on down the hall in search of refuge for the night.
3:00 A.M. ~ Shelly's Flirtation
AJ decided to knock on the door to the left of Team Canada’s room. “Door number
two it is,” Shelly giggled as they waited for the door to open. She pressed her
ear to the door of Team Canada to listen to what game they were watching.
”Anything interesting happening, nosy,” AJ asked with a smirk.
Shelly shoved him playfully and replied, “Just a bunch of skating noises. I
think they fell asleep watching the tape.”
Just then the door that they had knocked on opened and AJ and Shelly were
greeted by Rhino. “Hey,” he said happily, seeing them. “What can I do for you
two?”
”Daniels is snoring like a…”
”Wild grizzly bear on the hunt,” Rhino finished for Shelly. He nodded with a
chuckle. “I’ve heard about him. Come on in, guys. Make yourselves at home.” He
stepped aside to allow them into the room.
”You’re such a sweet guy,” Shelly said hugging him tightly. He smiled and
wrapped his large arms around her, tossing her over his shoulder and taking her
into the room. “This is the second time I’ve come face to face with a muscular
ass,” she said.
”Complaining,” AJ asked with a chuckle.
”Not really,” Shelly said admiring the view. “WHOA! OOF!” Rhino had tossed her
onto the bed.
”So, I have a muscular ass,” he asked sitting down next to her.
”Dude, you’re one giant muscle and I gotta say….mama likes,” she replied,
smiling up at him and batting her eyelashes.
He chuckled and slung an arm around her shoulders. “You’re one crazy bitch, you
know that,” Rhino said.
”I am THE crazy bitch,” Shelly replied, making Rhino laugh harder.
”There you go again with the bitch talk,” AJ said with a sigh. “You’re not a
bitch. All I’ve ever seen is a sweet woman who always has a smile on her face
and friendly word for her colleagues.”
”You haven’t seen my bad side yet, AJ,” Shelly said.
”You don’t wanna see her bad side,” Rhino said. “I saw her practically snap Gail
in two just because she shoved her out of the way to get hair and make up done.”
”Dirty skank had it coming,” Shelly said crossing her arms across her chest.
“She knew all I needed was a touch up and she still shoved me out of the way.
Everyone knows that she’d need massive hours to make her look even presentable.”
”Damn, put away the claws,” Rhino chuckled. “Gail’s not here.”
”So, what were you up to, Man Beast,” Shelly asked.
”I’m the War Machine now,” Rhino replied.
”Yeah, but Man Beast suits you more,” Shelly replied. “You’re a man and you
fight like a beast.” Rhino nodded, agreeing with what she was saying. “Besides
your name is Rhino, which is a beast not a machine.”
Rhino opened his mouth to disagree, but AJ stopped him. “It’s best just to agree
with her or she’ll annoy you for the rest of the night. Trust me, I learned that
the hard way last weekend.” Rhino chuckled.
Shelly glared at AJ and tossed a pillow at him. It hit him with such force that
it knocked him back into the wall. He hit his head hard and slumped to the
floor, holding his sore head. “Damn! That’s the second time you’ve made me hit
my head on something,” AJ said. “If you keep it up I’ll have concussion by
morning.”
Shelly ignored him and turned her attention back to Rhino. ”So, seriously, what
were you up to,” she asked.
”Nothing much,” Rhino replied with a shrug. “I was doing a little reading.” He
pointed to a book that lay open on the bed. Shelly picked it up and stifled a
chuckle. “What,” Rhino asked.
”You’re reading The Notebook,” Shelly asked, still stifling a chuckle.
”What’s wrong with that,” he asked.
”It’s a girly book,” she replied laughing.
”Didn’t you see the movie,” AJ asked. “That’s a total chick flick.” He chuckled
as he got to his feet still rubbing his head.
”And as I recall you were wiping away tears by the end,” Shelly said to AJ, who
blushed.
”I told you that a bug flew into my eye,” AJ replied.
”There’s nothing wrong with reading this,” Rhino said snatching the book from
Shelly. “It’s nice light reading and it’s a touching story.”
”Uh huh,” Shelly said nodding. “A touching story.” She giggled. “What would the
fans think if they knew that you read stuff like this?”
Before Rhino could reply they all heard Greg yelling and then a door slamming
and stomping up the hall. A few moment later there was banging on Rhino’s door.
Rhino, Shelly and AJ all exchanged puzzled looks. With a shrug Rhino answered
the door to find Raven standing there.
”What the hell is going on,” Rhino asked him.
”Uh…Greg needed a place to stay for the night, but apparently something has a
bug up his ass. He stormed out of my room. Can you believe he showed up without
his hot little manager,” Raven rambled without taking a breath.
”Exactly how many sodas and coffees have you had tonight birdman,” Shelly asked,
coming up behind Rhino.
”There you are,” Raven said smiling wide. “I’ve only had a couple of sodas. Not
too many. Do you want one? I can go grab one for you if you’d like. I thought
you were with AJ. What happened to him?”
”Yo,” AJ said joining the group at the door.
”Damn it! Why are you always around her,” Raven grumbled.
”He doesn’t have to be,” Shelly said wrapping her arms around Raven’s neck.
“Maybe you and I could go back to your room and….well I’m too much of a lady to
say it out loud.” She whispered something in his ear.
Raven smirked wickedly a moment and then realized what state his room was in.
“Uh…could you excuse me a moment? I need to tidy up before you and I
go…yeah…don’t go anywhere.” He raced back to his room.
”I’ve never seen him move so fast,” Rhino laughed. “What the hell did you say to
him?”
”A lady never kisses and tells,” Shelly replied. “Besides I don’t intend to do
any of that with him.”
”He’s going to be very disappointed when he gets back and you tell him no,” AJ
replied.
”Who says we’ll be here,” Shelly said grabbing AJ by his shirt collar. “Nice
seeing you Man Beast.” With that she dragged AJ out into the hall in search of a
room to hide from Raven in.
4:00 A.M. ~ Greg's Agony
The longer Greg went without sleep the heavier his limbs felt as he trudged the
hallway. He finally gave up and knocked on the first door he saw. He leaned his
head against the wall as he waited for someone to answer. He had just started to
doze off when the door opened.
”Greg,” Jay Lethal asked placing a hand on Greg’s shoulder. “You all right,
man?”
Greg looked at him, eyes bloodshot and bleary from lack of sleep. “Need sleep,”
he muttered incoherently. “Can’t sleep… Daniels….snores like a….grizzly bear….”
”Come on in,” Jay said steering Greg into the room. “Hey guys, look who I found
in the hall,” he called to Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin.
”Greg,” Sonjay and Chris called from their spots on the floor. They were in the
midst of playing a game of Monopoly.
”You look like shit, man,” Sonjay said.
”He needs sleep,” Jay said steering Greg to the nearest bed. “Go ahead. Get some
shut eye. We’ll try to keep it down.”
”Thank you,” Greg said through a yawn as he climbed into bed and curled up under
his blanket.
”Which one of you took some of my money,” Jay said as he took his place at the
game board.
”I didn’t,” Chris replied. “With hotels on Park Place and Boardwalk I don’t need
it.” Jay and Chris turned their attention to Sonjay.
”What are you looking at me for,” Sonjay exclaimed. “I didn’t touch your damn
money!”
”I distinctly remember that I had a five hundred dollar bill and four hundreds.
Now three hundreds are missing,” Jay replied.
Greg lay in bed, too tired to yell at them to shut up. He pulled the covers
tighter around him and the pillow over his head. Still he could hear the
argument escalating.
”You took my money, you cheat,” Jay yelled.
”I didn’t and you have no proof of it,” Sonjay replied.
”Let’s count your money,” Chris said snatching Sonjay’s money from him.
Without saying a word Greg got out of bed, glaring at all three men. He snatched
up the game board, pieces and money and went to the window. He threw it open and
tossed the game out. “Now no one has any damn money,” he exclaimed.
”Dude! I was fucking winning,” Chris said as all three men watched the game fall
to the pavement below.
”All of you just please shut the fuck up and let me get some damn sleep,” Greg
said climbing back into bed.
Chris, Sonjay and Jay stared out the window at their fallen game. Silently they
were debating who would be the one to go down and gather it up. Finally they
gave up hope of getting the game back.
”Punch buggy,” Sonjay said softly punching Jay in the arm as a red VW Beetle
passed the hotel.
”Ow man,” Jay whispered. “Punch buggy,” he hissed punching Sonjay in the arm. A
yellow Beetle had driven by a few moments later.
Sonjay gripped his throbbing arm, rubbing it to alleviate the pain. Chris
watched the two, chuckling at their antics. The three were content to just watch
the traffic for the time being. Greg had just started to fall into a deep sleep
after almost a half hour of silence.
“PUNCH BUGGY,” Chris cried punching both Sonjay and Jay in the arms. Greg’s eyes
popped open and a growl escaped his lips. “Shit! Sorry,” Chris called to Greg.
“I forgot you were trying to sleep. Go back to sleep. We’ll be quiet.”
”Dumb ass,” Sonjay muttered, earning himself a slap upside the head. Jay just
laughed and shook his head.
”Hey she’s kinda hot,” Sonjay said pointing to a woman and her friend walking
past the hotel. “Hey pretty lady,” he called out the window. The women looked to
see who had called to them. “How would you like to party with the Original Playa
from the Himalaya?”
”Dude, that was beyond lame,” Chris said laughing.
”Fuck off,” the women called, flipping them off.
”Did they just flip us off,” Jay asked. “Oh hell no!”
”Out of the way,” Chris said pushing his way closer to the window. “HEY LADIES!”
When they looked up at the window Chris was mooning them.
”That’s it,” Greg called, having listened to the cat calls long enough. “Pull up
your damn pants before I push your bare ass out the fucking window, Sabin.” He
was glaring at the three men with bleary, blood shot eyes. “I am leaving. Thanks
for nothing, assholes.” With that he grabbed his pillow and blanket and stormed
out of the room.
4:00 A.M. ~ Shelly's Torment
Tugging AJ along by his shirt collar, Shelly raced down the hall and knocked on
the first door she found. She didn't care whose room it was she just didn't want
Raven to catch up with her. She'd face his wrath on the plane in the morning.
For now escape was her only plan.
“Come on,” she muttered.
”Could you let go of me,” AJ asked. “I’m not a dog. I don’t need to be on a
leash.”
”You would look so cute in a little collar and leash,” Shelly teased. “Maybe a
red leather collar with silver studs or...OOH rhinestones!”
”Shut it,” AJ threatened, but Shelly just giggled.
The door finally opened and Shelly looked up at big Lance Hoyt. He wore sweats
with no shirt and Shelly gulped seeing him. “Hi,” she said weakly and then
fainted into AJ’s arms.
The men exchanged puzzled looks before Lance stepped aside and allowed AJ to
carry her into the room. He gently placed her on the free bed and sat down next
to her. Lance shut the door behind them and waited for AJ to say something.
”We haven’t slept all night,” AJ said noting the time. “Daniels is snoring like
a…well he’s just snoring real damn loud. We had to get out of there.” Lance
nodded taking a seat on the bed opposite AJ. “I guess the lack of sleep must
have caught up with her.”
”Well, that’ll do it,” Lance said. “Listen if you want to head somewhere else I
can keep an eye on her for the rest of the night.”
”I’m fine to stay with her,” AJ said suddenly feeling protective.
”What are you afraid I’m going to violate her or something,” Lance asked with a
smirk. “Honestly, that’s not my style. I like my women to be wide awake…if you
know what I mean.”
”I know what you mean,” AJ said. “And you’re not getting anywhere near her
tonight.”
”She’s a grown woman,” Lance said standing. AJ was not intimidated by the man’s
nearly seven foot height.
”She’s a grown woman who is vulnerable right now, Hoyt,” AJ replied. “I don’t
trust you and I’m not leaving her side.”
”My knight in shining armor,” Shelly muttered, having come to with all of the
arguing.
”This shrimp thinks that I’d do something to harm you,” Lance said.
”AJ, don’t be ridiculous,” Shelly said swinging her legs over the side of the
bed as she sat up. “Lance and I are good friends. He wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
AJ glared at Lance. “He was too keen to get rid of me,” he said finally.
”I just didn’t think you’d be interested in sitting around and watching me
reading magazines while Shell was out cold,” Lance replied.
”Fine,” AJ replied. “I know when I’m not wanted. I’m leaving.” He stormed over
to the door. “Are you coming, Shell?”
Shelly rose to follow AJ. ”She doesn’t have to go with you, Styles,” Lance said
shoving Shelly back down on the bed.
”That’s not for you to decide,” AJ yelled. The men turned their attention on
Shelly.
”You have to decide,” they both said.
Shelly looked from AJ to Lance, biting her lip nervously. “Remember all of the
fun you and I had hanging out this afternoon,” Lance said to her. She nodded,
smiling as she remembered how much fun they had watching the guys warm up for
the show.
”Remember all the fun you and I have on a daily basis,” AJ countered. Shelly
sighed and nodded, remembering goofing off with AJ after the shows.
”You guys are going to drive me insane,” Shelly said getting up and pacing. “I
love spending time with the both of you. Can’t we all just stay here and have
some fun?”
”You have to decide who you want to stay with for the rest of the night,” AJ
declared. “I am not staying in this room.”
”As far as I’m concerned you’re not welcome here, Styles,” Lance replied.
Shelly couldn’t decide who she wanted to spend time with more. She nervously
paced the floor trying to make up her mind. When he felt things were taking too
long, AJ let out an exasperated groan and opened the door. “Have fun with Hoyt,”
he said and stormed out of the room.
”Good decision,” Lance said smiling.
”Cut the crap, Hoyt,” Shelly said. “It’s your fault I’m in this situation. If
you hadn’t taken up so much of my damn time earlier I wouldn’t have forgotten to
book a room for Greg and I. Then I’d be nice and cozy in my very own bed for the
night.” With that she stormed out of the room, rushing to catch up with AJ.
5:00 A.M. ~ Greg's Savior
Greg slumped to the floor outside the room he had just exited, exhaustion taking
its toll on him now. He rubbed his bleary eyes, trying to clear his vision. The
hall looked like a big blurry mess. He had no idea what time it was, but he knew
it had to be very late. If he didn’t get some sleep soon he’d be no good for the
house show that night.
With an exhausted sigh he stood, carting his pillow and blanket down the hall.
Feeling like he couldn’t continue he collapsed against the nearest door,
knocking on it. With the last bit of his strength he leaned against the door
jamb so that he would not fall into the room when the door opened and closed his
eyes. He had just dozed off when the door opened.
”Greg,” Christy Hemme said shaking his shoulder gently. “Are you all right?”
”Huh,” Greg’s eyes snapped open and he tried to make them focus. “Christy? Am I
dreaming?”
Christy giggled. “No,” she replied. “You knocked on my door. What’s going on?”
”Shelly forgot to book us a room,” he replied feeling slightly rejuvenated. “We
were rooming with AJ and Daniels, but Daniels snores…oh God…the snoring.”
Christy giggled again. “Yeah, some of the guys told me that he sounds like a
grizzly bear or something like that.”
Greg nodded. “Need someplace to sleep,” he muttered.
”Come on in,” Christy said. “You poor guy.” She ushered him into the room and
sat him down on the bed.
”You’re an angel,” he said sleepily.
”You know, I was just getting ready to get some sleep,” Christy said. “I must
look like a total mess.”
”You could never,” Greg said smiling sleepily.
”You’re a sweety,” she said leaning in and kissing him on the cheek. “I’m going
to go get ready for bed. Why don’t you make yourself comfortable?”
He nodded and watched her head into the bathroom. With a content sigh he curled
up on one side of the bed and laid his weary head on his pillow. “Must stay
awake for Christy,” he muttered feeling his eyelids drooping. They snapped open
again as he tried with all of his might to stay awake.
”So, how are you enjoying TNA so far,” Christy asked from the bathroom. She was
done changing and had opened the door to talk to Greg.
”Everyone here is so nice,” Greg replied sleepily.
”I’m glad,” she said. He could hear her gargling and then brushing her teeth.
“How long do you think it will take you to win the X Division title,” she asked
after a brief silence.
Greg had started dozing off, but her voice brought him back to the world of the
living. “I don’t know,” he replied honestly. “I tell you one thing, I can sure
as hell kick out from that damn Warrior’s Way move Senshi does.”
Christy chuckled. “That’s good,” she said, now brushing her hair to tie back.
“You know, I always enjoy watching your matches. There’s something about them
that you just can’t look away from, you know? I mean, there’s so much action in
such a short period of time.” She sighed and finished up in the bathroom. “Who
do you face at the house show,” she asked coming out of the bathroom. “Greg?” It
was then that she realized he had fallen into a deep sleep.
With a sigh she tucked the blanket under his chin and gave him a kiss on the
cheek watching him sleeping soundly. She climbed into her side of the bed and
clicked off the bedside lamp. Settling in she closed her eyes, the sound of
Greg’s deep, even breathing soothing her to sleep.
Less than an hour later the phone began to ring in Christy’s room. Greg’s eyes
snapped open and he groaned. He didn’t feel rested at all. He heard Christy
groan softly, fumbling for the phone.
”Hello,” she said once she had located it. “Thank you.” She hung up the phone.
”What was that,” Greg asked, not even lifting his head from the pillow.
”My wake up call,” Christy replied. “It’s six o’clock.”
”Great,” Greg said heaving himself out of bed.
”Where are you going,” Christy asked.
”I have to find Shelly and AJ. We have a flight that leaves in about two hours,”
Greg replied with a groan. “Thanks for letting me sleep here…even if it was only
for a short time.”
”Any time,” Christy called as Greg made his way out of the room.
5:00 A.M. ~ Shelly's Exhaustion
“AJ,” Shelly called. “Wait up!” She rushed down the hall after AJ. He reached
the end of the hall and stopped, arms folded across his chest. “AJ,” she said,
the lack of sleep taking its toll on her now. “Please don’t be angry. You know I
love spending time with you, but I love spending time with Lance too. You’re
both great guys.”
”I just didn’t appreciate the way he was treating me,” AJ said.
”It’s the lack of sleep,” Shelly said. “It makes you irritable and we jump to
conclusions about things. Lance wasn’t trying to kick you out of the room. I’m
just sure of it. Well…not at first anyway. He was kicking you out toward the
end.” She held her head a moment, shaking it as if trying to clear the cobwebs.
“Man, am I freaking tired!”
”Let’s see who’s in here,” AJ suggested. He knocked on the door and waited.
Moments later Christian Cage answered the door.
”Hey,” he said smiling seeing that he had company. “What brings you guys here?”
”Daniels’ snoring,” Shelly replied rubbing her eyes. “We need a place to bunk
for the night. Is there room in there for us?”
”For you guys,” Christian said ushering them inside. “Always.”
”I would have thought you’d have a single,” AJ said sitting down on the free
bed.
”Well, normally I would, but this was the last room available,” Christian
replied. “So, can I get you anything to drink?”
”Just the bed,” Shelly replied. “Need sleep now.”
She crawled under the covers, AJ joining her. With a sigh she curled up against
AJ’s chest, making herself comfortable. Christian watched the two and raised an
eyebrow.
”What,” AJ asked, seeing Christian looking at them.
”When did you two become a couple,” Cage asked.
”We’re not dating, dipshit,” Shelly replied sleepily. “Jesus can’t a girl use a
guy as a pillow without people jumping to conclusions?”
”If you needed a pillow all you had to do was ask,” Christian replied with a
smile. Without even raising her head Shelly tossed her pillow at Christian,
hitting him in the bed.
”OOOOWWW,” Christian whined. “Jesus! It was a joke!”
”Joke on your own time,” Shelly replied. “Now shut the fuck up so I can sleep.”
”Fine,” Christian replied rubbing his sore head. “I was just going to bed
anyway.” He clicked off the lamp, settling into bed. He tossed and turned, but
couldn’t sleep. With a loud sigh he turned his attention to Shelly and AJ’s bed.
”You guys sleeping yet,” Christian asked.
”No,” AJ replied. “Not yet, but getting there.” There was no response from
Shelly.
”I guess she’s sleeping,” Christian asked.
”If she isn’t she’s doing a pretty great impression of it,” AJ replied with a
yawn.
”Hey, have you ever thought of…you know…going out with her,” Christian asked.
”She’s a friend, Christian,” AJ replied. “I’d like to keep it that way.”
”I know, but if things were different, would you,” Christian asked, propping
himself up on his elbow.
”Christian,” Shelly muttered, her voice muffled by AJ’s chest. “If you don’t
stop this line of questioning I am going to rip you a new asshole.” AJ couldn’t
help laughing at the comment. “AJ! Stop laughing you’re making me seasick,” she
said slapping his arm. “Can we just get some sleep?”
”Fine,” Christian said pouting now.
”Stop pouting,” Shelly said to him. “I’m just cranky ‘cause I’m tired. You know
I love you to pieces, you big silly.”
”I know,” Christian said smiling. “Goodnight.”
In the silence of the room all three fell into a deep sleep. Not a sound was
made, aside from the occasional sigh or groan from a sleeping body. Shelly and
AJ snuggled up close, each enjoying the soothing warmth generated by the other.
Christian lay on his side, curled in a ball.
It wasn’t long before the phone rang, waking all three. Christian clicked the
bedside lamp on and picked up on the third ring. “Hello,” he groaned. “Thank
you.”
”Let me guess,” Shelly muttered, not wanting to move. “Wake up call?”
”Yeah,” Christian yawned. “It’s six.”
Shelly groaned, grinding sleep out of her eyes. “We better go find Greg,” she
said nudging AJ. Using what little energy they had Shelly and AJ left
Christian’s room.
6:00 A.M. ~ The Reunion
Greg trudged along the hall, dragging his pillow and blanket behind him. He made
it to the room, but realized he still didn’t have the room key. With a groan he
slid down the door to the floor, resting his head against it. He could still
hear Daniels inside the room.
Shelly and AJ made their way down the hall, debating whether they should knock
on random doors to find Greg. It was then that AJ spotted Greg, sleeping against
the room door. He pointed him out to Shelly, who sighed and quickened her steps.
”He must not have had the room key,” Shelly said pulling hers out of her shorts
pocket.
AJ nudged Greg with his foot, offering him his hand when he opened his eyes.
“You had about as much luck as we did, huh,” AJ asked.
Greg yawned, getting to his feet. “Yeah,” he replied. “I hope one of you has the
key.”
Shelly held it up before slipping it into the slot and opening the door. Daniels
was still snoring away, but they didn’t care. One by one they flopped onto their
beds, falling asleep almost as soon as their heads hit the pillows.
It wasn’t long before the phone rang waking everyone in the room. “Oh thank God
that awful sound has stopped,” Shelly muttered.
”Hello,” Christopher said, answering the phone. “Yes, thank you.” He hung up and
got out of bed, stretching. He looked at his room mates, frowning.
“Come on you lazy bums,” he said heading over to the window. “It’s a brand new
day.” He grasped the drapes, throwing them open. “The sun is shining and we have
a flight to catch soon.” Everyone groaned, glaring at him. They hated how rested
and perky he was.
“Well, I’m going to grab the first shower. I won’t be long. With four people
we’ll need to conserve the hot water.” He gathered his things and headed into
the bathroom.
Shelly, AJ and Greg all fell back into their pillows, begging for just a little
more sleep. Unfortunately Daniels had other ideas. He soon began to sing, very
loudly and very off key.
”ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI! ALL COVERED WITH CHEESE! I LOST MY POOR MEATBALL! WHEN
SOMEBODY SNEEZED,” he sang.
”I’m going to kill him,” Shelly said attempting to climb out of bed. AJ stopped
her, pulling her back.
”Do you really want to see Christopher Daniels naked,” he asked with a tired
smirk.
”Good point,” Shelly replied. Greg just giggled sleepily.
”Ah,” Christopher sighed coming out of the bathroom several minutes later. “It
feels good to be nice and clean.” He frowned once again seeing that everyone was
still in bed. “What is with you guys? You act like you haven’t slept all night.”
”Should I tell him,” Shelly asked.
”Nah,” AJ replied. “I’m heading into the shower. Perhaps that’ll wake me up.”
”Mind if I join you,” Shelly teased, yawning and rolling over in bed.
”Tempting offer,” AJ replied with a chuckle.
About an hour later everyone was showered and changed. All except Daniels
trudged sleepily down the hall to the elevator. Once on the elevator Shelly, AJ
and Greg leaned against the walls for support, as they fought to keep their eyes
open.
”I still don’t understand why you’re all so tired,” Christopher said shaking his
head. “I feel great.” He shrugged. “Guess you can sleep on the plane. Good thing
I brought a bunch of books to read. Man, would I be bored as hell if I had to
watch all of you sleeping.” As the elevator dinged to a stop AJ had to hold
Shelly back as she attempted to strangle Daniels.
